Leisure Reading and Academic Achievement

A key preoccupation of Singapore parents is how to get their kids to achieve academic excellence. To this end, they invest in all kinds of enrichment programmes as well as reading programs. But the kinds of reading programmes that they invest in, often does not promote reading for pleasure.
